About the Author
Fred Feldmesser visited New YorkÂ’s Diamond District as a young boy with his father, a gem and jewelry merchant who helped establish 47th Street as the diamond center of the world. As an adult he followed in his fatherÂ’s profession, spending his early years at Harry Winston and Cartier. He now divides his time between working with clients as a private jeweler and consulting and lecturing for organizations such as the Gemological Institute of America, SothebyÂ’s, the Diamond Promotion Service, and the Smithsonian Institution. Feldmesser has been the subject of a number of articles in such publications as Departures Magazine (American Express) and The Robb Report. He lives with is wife, Gwen, and their two cats, in Boston and New York.
